Various types of conveyors are used for grain transportation. For vertical lifting use bucket elevators, scraper conveyors, screws, pneumatic conveying, and others. Bucket elevators can be of various capacities and heights of up to 60 meters and more.
In a horizontal plane, the grain is transported by chain, belt conveyors, screws. Wide distribution in grain complexes was received by chain conveyors thanks to the closed case and simple service. Chain conveyors have a limited length (usually 60 meters), some models have curved sections for lifting up to 30 ‘
For transportation of grain in an inclined plane, scraper conveyors are often used, where the size of the scrapers is equal to the cross-section of the transported box. This type of conveyor is used less often due to increased power.
Augers are widely used for vertical, inclined, horizontal transportation, there are models with a bend. The main disadvantage of augers is low productivity and a high probability of grain spoilage
Belt conveyors have low power consumption, a large length (100 meters or more) is possible. Disadvantages: dusting during loading-unloading, it is necessary to cover from weathering precipitation, difficult repairs, difficulties with intermediate unloading.
Pneumatic transport is quite compact, it is possible to go through complex bends, the greatest possible length. Disadvantages: high power consumption, low capacity.
